Information we collect
When you visit Avion, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. As you browse Avion, we collect information about the pages you view, what referred you to Avion, and how you interact with the site. We refer to this as "Device Information".
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

When you purchase a subscription, we collect information including your name, billing address, payment information (processed securely via our payment providers — Avion does not store card details), email address, and phone number. We refer to this as "Order Information".

We use Order Information to fulfil subscriptions, process payments, and communicate with you about your account. We use Device Information to improve and optimise Avion and to screen for potential risk or fraud. We use Personal Information to communicate with you about your account and, where you have opted in, to send marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Our legal bases for processing your personal data under UK GDPR are: performance of a contract (where you have a subscription with us); legitimate interests (for security monitoring, fraud prevention, and service improvement); and consent (for marketing communications).
Sharing your information
We use a number of service providers to help us operate Avion. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are subject to appropriate data processing agreements. Our current sub-processors include:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure and application hosting (EU Frankfurt for EU customers; US Ohio for cloud customers)
- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting
- Postmark — transactional email (password resets, account notifications)
- Chargebee — subscription management
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google Analytics — website traffic analysis (marketing site only; anonymised and aggregated data)
- Google Workspace — internal email and document management
- Slack — internal communications
- GitHub — source control and deployment
- 1Password — credential management
We may also share your information where required to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or to respond to a lawful request from a public authority.
International transfers
Some of our sub-processors are located in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or equivalent mechanisms, in accordance with UK GDPR.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for the duration of your subscription and for 30 days following termination, after which it is securely deleted unless we are required by law to retain it for longer. Transaction records may be retained for longer periods for legal and accounting purposes.
Do not track
We do not alter Avion's data collection and usage practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; object to or restrict our processing of your data; and request a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at security@avion.io. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Revisions to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will endeavour to communicate material changes to you. Your continued use of Avion after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
